No. Standard listings on Back in Business are free for businesses that meet our editorial standards. Submit through the listing form and our team reviews it. Sponsored placements at a higher-visibility tier are available separately.
My business went through a rough year but we're back open. Will you list us?
Yes. A business that closed temporarily, scaled down, or rebuilt after a hard stretch is not a problem to us. Submit your listing and describe where the business stands today. Active and operating is the standard we apply.
How do you decide which businesses get featured at the top of a category?
Featured placements go to businesses that meet our editorial standards and have opted into a sponsored tier. Sponsored and editorial listings are kept visibly distinct so readers always know which is which. Coverage decisions beyond that are our editorial call based on what's most useful to readers in Knoxville, Madison, and Savannah.
How do I report a listing that looks out of date or closed?
Use the contact form and include the business name and city. We check flagged listings promptly and either update them or pull them if the business is no longer operating.
